Welcome to the Healthy Families Oregon Coalition.

Our purpose is to unify and support local Healthy Families America chapters in providing comprehensive, evidence-based services that empower parents, foster healthy child development, and strengthen families across our communities.

We’re happy you found your way to our site.

HFOC is a group of early childhood leaders from around Oregon who champion and uplift the work of the state-wide Healthy Families program. Our group is composed mostly of Program Managers from each region. We hold space for peer support, for information and training, as well as education and advocacy about our program.

Regions We Support

Linn-Benton County

Linn-Benton is in the heart of the Willamette Valley. It serves families from a variety of cities and towns including Corvallis, Albany, Lebanon, Scio, Sweet Home, Mill City, Monroe, Philomath and all in between! We have 8 Family Support Specialists, 5 of which are Bilingual. Our team serves about 60% Spanish and MAM-speaking population. Almost half of our families have not graduated with a high school diploma or GED, and over 90% have OHP medical insurance.

Four Rivers Healthy Families

Four Rivers Healthy Families serves five Oregon Counties: Gilliam, Hood River, Sherman, Wasco, and Wheeler. We are housed within The Next Door, Inc., a private non-profit organization that serves our communities through 40 different programs. More than half of our program’s families are Spanish speaking, and a majority of our staff are English/Spanish bilingual. In addition to home visiting, we offer a Welcome Baby Packet to ANY expectant parent living in our five counties. We can be found here: https://www.nextdoorinc.org/family-services

Washington County

We only serve this one county, but we have a lot of families. Our county highly values collaboration and partnerships – seeking to enhance each family’s experiences through mutual support rather than programmatic competition. As such, families come to our HF program through our universal screening & eligibility team – Help Me Grow at Community Action. After families get screened, they can get home visiting through one of our local teams under LifeWorks NW and Community Action. About half the families we serve speak Spanish, but the Washington County population is very diverse, so we also work with families who speak many other languages (there are approximately 150 languages spoken in homes across Washington County). We currently have 14 Family Support Specialists providing Healthy Families program services.

Frontier Healthy Families Oregon

We are the smallest program in the state. Our website is: www.familiesfirstofgrantcounty.com

Healthy Families Multnomah County

We are Healthy Families Multnomah County! We lead with family voice and community driven data to ensure quality programming! We serve close to 500 families in our program each year. In order to do that we have a robust team that includes 30 home visitors located within several local community-based organizations. We offer culturally specific services to parents and caregivers that identify as African American, Latino/a/e, and serve teen, immigrant and refugee parents and families impacted by substance use disorders. Our staff also reflect the diversity of our participants that we are honored to work with and build relationships with everyday. We are skilled and passionate about offering supportive services and partnering with families around advocacy. Our staff are committed to walking alongside parents in their parenting journey, through both the challenging and joyful times!

Marion-Polk Counties

We serve families in both counties. Two of our community partners, Salem Hospital and Silverton Hospital, provide families who have recently delivered a baby to meet with one of our eligibility screeners to learn about services our agency, Family Building Blocks, provides (Healthy Families, Early Head Start, and Relief Nursery). Our staff focuses on connecting families to resources and building their parenting toolkit so that they feel confident raising their child(ren).

NW OR Healthy Families, serving Clatsop, Columbia and Tillamook Counties

Clatsop, Columbia, and Tillamook Counties each bring their own unique strengths and challenges when it comes to supporting families in need.

Clatsop County has a strong sense of community and collaboration, with local organizations working closely together to ensure families have access to essential resources. Its coastal location means it serves both year-round residents and seasonal workers, which presents unique distribution needs.

Columbia County is known for its mix of rural and small-town communities, where word-of-mouth and grassroots efforts play a big role in connecting families with services. There is a dedication of staff who go the extra mile—sometimes quite literally—to reach families in more remote areas.

Tillamook County is famous for its dairy industry and beautiful coastline, but behind the scenic landscapes are hardworking families who sometimes struggle to make ends meet. The resilience of this community stands out, and local partnerships help ensure that families receive not just diapers, but also wraparound support when they need it most.

Douglas, Klamath and Lake

Healthy Families serves families in Douglas, Klamath and Lake counties, focusing on rural and frontier communities where services are limited. Our program ensures that all families, especially those in underserved areas, have access to essential services and knowledge that will promote healthy family relationships. We also aim to provide culturally-responsive support, hosting Spanish-English bilingual home visitors to ensure inclusivity of all families in our region. By reaching these communities, we promote healthy family development where it’s needed most.

Healthy Families Eastern Oregon

Healthy Families Eastern Oregon serves the rural communities of Malheur and Baker counties, known for their agricultural landscapes and scenic outdoor opportunities. The program focuses on strengthening relationships, improving parenting skills, and providing guidance for a successful future.

With four dedicated Family Support Specialists, the organization supports families across a wide area, from Ontario, Vale, Nyssa, and Adrian to Baker City and Haines. Each Family Support Specialist helps families navigate their parenting journey, connecting them to a variety of services and resources that connect them to the community.
